A high-quality 5D-FB cable (Ø7.5 mm) is widely used in cellular amplification systems, as well as for switching various RF devices operating at a frequency of up to 6 GHz. This cable version has a copper-clad aluminum (CCA) center conductor.
The main difference of the 5D-FB cable from the cheap RG-58 series is the significant reduction of losses of the RF signal. When using cheap RG-58 coaxial cable, unwanted attenuation is already noticeable at a cable length of 10-15 meters. Using 5D-FB, the cable length can reach 20-30 meters ,while the end device (repeater, router or cellular modem) will still receive a sufficient signal power.
For example, the power loss on a 5D-FB cable length of 100 meters ranges from 20 dB for the 900 MHz band to 36 dB when using a signal at 2600 MHz, but with RG-58 cable losses are usually doubled.
Our coaxial cable supports a wide variety of RF connectors (N, SMA, TNC, FME, and others). 50 Ohm impedance guarantees compatibility with cellular radio equipment.
The conductor of the cable is made of Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA), which is cheaper than an all-copper conductor, but has comparable technical characteristics. Good flexibility of the cable is ensured by a foamed polyethylene dielectric. The outer jacket is made in accordance with fire protection requirements and it has the Low Smoke Zero Halogen” (LSZH) jacket. The cable can be used both inside buildings and outdoors.
For longer cable lengths or for critical connections, we can offer 8D-FB and 10D-FB coaxial cables with even lower attenuation rates.
